RIO DE JANEIRO – Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno had their final pre-fight meeting at Friday’s ceremonial weigh-ins ahead of their UFC 283 main event title fight.
Flyweight champion Figueiredo (21-2-1 MMA, 10-2-1 UFC) takes on former champion and current interim titleholder Moreno (20-6-2 MMA, 8-3-2 UFC) for the fourth time with title unification at stake. Their series is knotted at 1-1-1.
Moreno was stoic during the entire staredown, no moving or flinch as Figueiredo aggressively bounced around the stag and put his hands close. Figueiredo then pulled a banana out of his pocket, showing it to Moreno in reference to a piece of their feud where Figueiredo claimed Moreno made racist comments about his team.
