UEFA are reportedly considering another major change to the Champions League that could greatly impact a number of Premier League clubs.
There is already set to be a considerable alteration to the competition over the next few seasons. UEFA have announced that the total number of teams will increase from 32 to 36, with the traditional group-stage format being disbanded.
A single league stage including all teams will now take place, with clubs guaranteed to play 10 matches against different opponents. The top eight sides following the league stage will progress to the knockout rounds, with the following 16 sides set to compete in a two-legged play-off to secure their respective progressions.
