Dan Hurley must have forgotten that he was on television for a brief moment during a Saturday appearance on ESPN’s College GameDay at Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, Conn.
The ESPN crew, which featured Hurley as a guest as part of its pregame show, had the UConn men’s basketball coach shoot half-court shots during a segment at one point.
Hurley, a former college basketball player at Seton Hall, failed to hit the shot after several attempts. As time ran out, the Huskies coach let out a loud, drawn-out F-bomb, which was caught by ESPN microphones, in frustration.
You can hear Hurley’s roaring f-bomb in the clip below. (Warning: vulgar language)

When ESPN returned from a commercial break, College GameDay host Rece Davis perfectly played off the moment, apologizing and referencing the movie A Christmas Story.
“We apologize for that,” Davis said. “In the immortal words of the narrator from A Christmas Story, ‘Only he didn’t say fudge.’”
Hurley, who’s known for his intensity, likely became lost in the moment of trying to make the half-court shot in front of the Huskies faithful, simply forgetting it was merely a lighthearted segment on television.
But Davis played off of it like a true professional.
