Uber announces first market for its specially built autonomous taxis with 100 vehicles set to hit the streets

The San Francisco Bay Area will be the first market for Uber’s specially built autonomous taxi, which is expected to launch in late 2026, the company said Wednesday.

The San Francisco-based ride-hailing company announced in July that it was developing a robotaxi with electric car company Lucid and self-driving technology company Nuro Inc.
