The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is looking to engage in exclusive bilateral trade talks with the European Union (EU) as negotiations within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) remain at an impasse, according to sources familiar with the matter.
The move by the UAE to seek direct trade discussions with the EU comes amidst challenges faced in advancing trade talks within the GCC, a regional political and economic alliance comprising six Gulf countries.
