UAE Minister of State for Defense Affairs Mohammed bin Ahmed al-Bowardi held talks with the Chief of Staff of the Sudanese Armed Forces Lt. General Muhammad Othman al-Hussein in Abu Dhabi on Monday.
Both sides underscored the efforts to bolster and develop cooperation in all fields, especially with regard to military coordination and defense cooperation.
Bowardi welcomed Hussein and his accompanying delegation and commended the positive developments in bilateral ties, in light of the support of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in a way that serves the interests of both countries and peoples.
“The relations between the United Arab Emirates and Sudan are a model of effective overall cooperation, supported by the convergence of views and stances towards the region and the rest of the world,” Bowardi said, noting that the UAE’s leadership has repeatedly affirmed its support for Khartoum in various occasions.
Hussein also held talks with his UAE counterpart Lt. General Hamad Mohammed Thani al-Rumaithi under the framework of the ongoing coordination and consultation between the two countries.
Discussions tackled the existing cooperation ties and means to enhance them at various levels.
