A U.S. warship has been sunk by missile fire in the Pacific.
However, the destruction of the guided missile frigate USS Rodney M. Davis wasn’t unexpected, having been selected for a multi-nation sinking exercise.
Rim of the Pacific 2022, the world’s largest international maritime exercise, saw partner nation ships and aircraft sink the decommissioned vessel on July 12, in waters 15,000 feet deep, 50 nautical miles north of Kauai, in the U.S. state of Hawaii.
