Tyson Fury wants $500m to end retirement for Oleksandr Usyk super-fight

Tyson Fury wants $500million (£424m) to come out of retirement to fight Oleksandr Usyk.

Fury also yesterday issued an ultimatum for organisers to arrange an undisputed heavyweight title fight against Usyk by next Thursday.

“To all these suitors out there who want to make the fight, I’m going to give you all seven days, until September 1, to come up with the money,” said Fury.

“If not, thank you very much, it’s been a blast. I’m retired.”

Fury holds the WBC title, while Usyk retained his three belts by beating Anthony Joshua. The winner of the fight would become the first undisputed heavyweight champion since 1999.

Fury told talkSPORT: “This fight is purely about money. It’s the biggest fight in the world, and it needs to be the biggest payday in the world. Floyd Mayweather got $400million for [Manny] Pacquiao, I want $500million for Usyk.”

Fury’s promoter, Frank Warren, has indicated the fight is unlikely to be in the UK, with talks for it to take place in the Middle East.
