British world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury was spotted at Blackpool Pleasure Beach on Saturday as the Gypsy King prepares to begin a social media blackout ahead of his fight with Dillian Whyte in April.
The WBC champion posed with wife Paris and their six children beneath the Icon roller coaster sign just two days after he posted on Instagram to confirm his fight with Whyte on April 23.
It was his first post since Team Fury announced the 33-year-old is set to begin a social media blackout to prioritise his clash against compatriot Whyte.
Fury admitted in a video posted to Instagram there may be videos uploaded from training camp - but they will come from his team members.
After contracts for the fight were signed, Fury told his 5.4 million followers to refrain from contacting him via call, text or email while he is at training camp - but Blackpool Pleasure Beach took to social media to offer their support after the Gypsy King visited.
“Good luck to Tyson Fury @gypsyking101 ahead of his fight with Dillian Whyte!” The theme park wrote on Instagram. “Great to welcome @parisfury1 and the family back on park.
“Hope you enjoyed your White Knuckle Weekend.”
The post has racked up 1,600 likes on Facebook while fans took to the comments to wish Fury luck and encourage the champion ahead of the fight, which is just under two months away.
After some speculation about where the showdown will take place, it has been confirmed that the two Brits will fight at the iconic Wembley Stadium.
It will be the first time Fury has fought in the United Kingdom since August 2018, when he defeated Italian Francesco Pianeta on points at Belfast’s Windsor Park.
Whyte had stalled over signing the contract for the fight, only finally penning the agreement just a few hours before the deadline, prompting a sarcastic response from Fury.
"Oh my God, Dillian Whyte has signed his contract for $8million, what a surprise," Fury said on social media. "What an absolute idiot, should this even be a talking point?
"The man has signed for the biggest pay day he's ever going to get in his life.
"Oh my God, my head hurts from all the mind games Dillian Whyte has been playing on me. Oh my God, I don't know whether I'm coming or going; my training camp's a mess."
Fury is set to earn 80 per cent of the purse from the heavyweight showdown when he puts his WBC world title on the line against mandatory challenger Whyte.
Tickets for the Wembley fight go on sale at midday on March 2.
