Tyson Fury has been keeping up his usual training routine despite confirming multiple times that he is retiring after beating Dillian Whyte at Wembley in April to retain his world champion status. The 33-year-old has not surrendered his belts yet, however, suggesting that he could well be plotting a return to the ring.
It has been suggested that the undefeated Fury would come out of retirement to fight the winner of Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk's rematch which takes place in Saudi Arabia this summer. In a video posted to Instagram, Fury addressed recent rumours of his retirement, saying: "Second session of the day, smashing it! Come on guys. I just read today that I am supposed to be coming out of retirement? That's news to me, As far as I'm concerned, I'm staying [retired]."
The rumours have intensified in recent days following Top Rank Boxing CEO and Fury's US promoter Bob Arum's admission that he could 'unretire' for the right fight. Speaking about Fury's future to Fight Hype, Arum said: "Tyson Fury is retired and he will be retired until we come to him with the next big event and then he will unretire." He added. "Well, I think Fury is going to wait to see how the [Anthony] Joshua fight comes out with [Oleksandr] Usyk, and then he'll make a determination whether he wants to continue.
