Tyson Fury reveals plans for ‘explosive’ Francis Ngannou crossover fight in 2023

Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou seemingly confirmed plans for a crossover fight to take place at some point in 2023.

After a superb stoppage win over Dillian Whyte at Wembley, ending the bout with a huge right uppercut, Fury once again hinted that he was ready to retire from the sport.

But before long he was then discussing the future with Ngannou in the ring and the pair spoke in very definitive terms about the prospect of a future fight.

“This is going to be one very special fight like never before seen in the history of our sport,” Fury said.

“We’re not talking two light guys. It’s going to be an explosive fight when it happens.”

Ngannou is the UFC heavyweight champion, with president Dana White previously urging the 35-year-old not to take part in any crossover bout.

But it looks like White could be ignored, with Ngannou suggesting that he and Fury could take part in fight that combines the worlds of boxing and MMA.

“It’s going to be a hybrid fight with different types of rules,” Ngannou said.

“MMA gloves, in the ring, kind of like mixed up.”

He added: “Definitely some time next year, 2023 that fight will happen

“By the end of the year we’re going to sort it out and get settled ready to go.

“Tyson Fury vs. Francis Ngannou in Africa. That would be the best one. The Rumble in the Jungle 2!”
