Tyson Fury owes Piers Morgan £1million after announcing Derek Chisora fight

Tyson Fury is set to earn another big payday by fighting Derek Chisora for the third time, but the heavyweight champion will have to fork out £1million to TV host Piers Morgan.

Heavyweight champion Fury, 34, promised he would hang up his gloves after knocking out Dillian Whyte in April but backtracked on his decision by trying to secure a fight against Anthony Joshua. After both parties were unable to reach an agreement, Fury turned his attention to Chisora as the pair will now meet in a trilogy fight on December 3 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Two months after defending his belt in front of 90,000 fans at Wembley 'The Gypsy King' promised Morgan he would pay him £1milllion if he fought again. "I am not going to be fighting any more professional fights. I’m finished," he told the TV host on Piers Morgan Uncensored. "There's some talk of some exhibition fights but to be honest with you, I can’t see that coming off either.

"I’ve got no interest in fighting anymore, enough is enough for me. I put a ridiculous number on today. I said I'll come back for half a billy, half a billion pounds. That's £500million. If that's not ridiculous, I don’t know what is!" Morgan then asked if Fury would pay him £1million if the huge offer was on the table, to which he replied: "If I am getting half a billion for my fight it won’t matter will it? Yep, 100 per cent.”

Fury has now promised to follow through with the bet after talkSPORT host Simon Jordan reminded him of it, insisting he will pay Morgan £1million in pound coins. "No listen, I’m not having it, I’ve never c***ed on a deal in my life. I actually do like you Simon, but I do like Piers as well, if I fight again now he’s going to get paid in pound coins, that was the deal, the deal was that he gets paid in a million pound coins," Fury said on talkSPORT.

Queensbury Promotions boss Frank Warren had to pay Fury £10,000 in cash after 'The Gypsy King' bet his promoter that Joshua wouldn't sign his contract for their grudge fight. Warren insisted that Chisora was the highest-ranked opponent available for Fury to fight before the end of the year, despite Joe Joyce calling for the fight. "We were in a position where we had to find him a ranked opponent and the highest-ranked opponent was Derek Chisora," Warren said.

"It's important that Tyson has a fight before the end of the year because if he;'s fighting [Oleksandr] Usyk and he didn't have anything in between then he would have been out of the ring for a year."
