Tyson Fury has admitted that he may have a Floyd Mayweather-esque retirement, with the WBC heavyweight champion revealing that he may never be able to fully give up on boxing.
The self-styled 'Gypsy King' will face Derek Chisora at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday night as he hopes to continue his unbeaten record of 32-0-1. This comes after a year where Fury, 34, has hinted at retirement multiple times, even surrendering his lineal Ring Magazine title back in August ahead of Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk, with Usyk winning and claiming the belt.
Fury did not retire, however, and in the wake of Joshua's defeat to Usyk tried to negotiate a deal to fight 'AJ'. A deal could not be reached and Fury subsequently secured a fight against Derek Chisora which takes place on Saturday, December 3rd.

It is a fight that sees Fury, who remains unbeaten as the world heavyweight champion, taking on a fighter who has lost three of his last four fights and twice previously to Fury. This could leave many wondering if this type of fight could be happening more regularly for Fury.
Recently, Floyd Mayweather has taken part in a string of exhibition fights, most recently taking on YouTube star Deji in a Dubai fight as the 45-year-old 50-0-0 former multiple-weight world champion enjoys a lucrative retirement. This is a path that Fury has hinted could lie ahead, with the Wythenshawe-born fighter explaining how hard it is to let go of such a career in the sport he loves.
Fury explained his stance during an appearance on The MMA Hour yesterday, saying that normal life does not suit him having had a 14-year professional career in boxing: “I was at home, I did everything I wanted to do,”. He added. “I wanted to spend some time with my family. I wanted to be that father. The kids, the school runs and all that, the dog, I wanted to do all that sort of stuff.
"Then I realised that’s for normal people and I’m anything but a normal person. I’m like an abnormal alien. I only thrive when I’m in training camp for a fight. I really don’t know what’s going to happen in the future when that is not an option anymore. I’m pretty f***** up, I think.
“I’m very worried because I can’t let go just like most of the great champions throughout history. Look at Floyd Mayweather. The guy’s 45 years old taking f***ing fights against YouTubers and stuff because he can’t let it go. It’s a very difficult thing to let it go. Very difficult.”
