Tyson Fury explains reasons for fighting with comical response to fans' question

Heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has claimed that his motivations to get in the boxing ring are "money" and "p****" when questioned on social media.

The 'Gypsy King' is preparing to defend his titles against domestic rival Dillian Whyte as he seeks a ring return for the first time since his trilogy with Deontay Wilder.

Fury has made a remarkable comeback to the sport and remains undefeated in his illustrious heavyweight career.

He has now addressed his reasons for continuing to fight in the boxing ring, shouting: "So I get asked on a regular basis 'why am I in boxing?'

"It is simple I am in boxing for two reasons. I am in boxing for the money and the p**** that comes with it."

WARNING: STRONG LANGUAGE

The 33-year-old's remarkable career continued with another historic result in October when he ended his rivalry with Wilder through a brutal stoppage.

He is now looking to have a busier year in 2022 and is planning to face Whyte in April in a WBC heavyweight title defence, before challenging the winner of Anthony Joshua's rematch with Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed crown.

However the wait has been ongoing for any official confirmation of his clash with Whyte as the 'Body Snatcher' continues to ponder a decision on signing the fight contract.

The fight has faced a long and dramatic build up with talks initially taking place with bitter rival Joshua to step-aside from his rematch so Fury can challenge unified champion Usyk.

However negotiations quickly collapsed with both camps accusing each other of derailing the deal, and Fury later declared his desire to Whyte.

Purse bids were finally called with Fury's co-promoter Frank Warren winning the rights to stage the fight by trumping Eddie Hearn with a bumper £31 million offer.

Whyte has remained silent since the contracts have been drawn up despite Fury's constant pursuit of his rival on social media.

Eddie Hearn confirmed Whyte had received the contract but planned to remain silent due to his "disbelief" at the fight officially being confirmed.

The deadline for Whyte to sign the contract and deliver the clash is 6am on February 21 with alternative options expected to be pursued for Fury if the clash breaks down.

Fury's father John has sent Whyte an ominous message on social media calling for his son's rival to quit the "mind games".

"Dillian Whyte you said you wanted a title shot and you have been banging on for three years that you haven't got it, and now you don't seem to want it pal," he posted on social media.

"I don't know what mind games you are trying to play but they don't work with us. You are running out of time and you are making yourself look very stupid.

"Get the contract signed, get your beating along with your job. At least your consolation prize is $8 million, if you decline that you want putting in an asylum."
