Tyson Fury called out by WWE rival ahead of potential return to wrestling

Tyson Fury has been called out by his WWE rival ahead of a potential return to wrestling this year after announcing his intentions to retire from boxing. It comes after Fury defeated Dillian Whyte last night in sensational fashion landing a huge uppercut to knockout his opponent in the sixth round.

The fight was a stunning all-round display from Fury, who kept Dillian Whyte in his range as he worked his jab, before flooring his opponent with a swift and stunning knockout in the sixth round. Speaking to talkSPORT, he said: "I've been in this game for 20 years, I'm 34 in a few months. This is definitely the end of the Gypsy King and I went out with a bang. Tonight was amazing but this is the end."

It would bring an end to one of the greatest careers in boxing history - retiring with 32 wins and one draw in his 33 fights.

And he could turn his attentions to the WWE after announcing he'll hang up his gloves. The Wythenshawe-born heavyweight world champion has wrestled before, defeating Braun Strowman in 2019 by a count-out victory. While Fury's wife Paris has confirmed he remains in close contact with WWE chairman and CEO Vince McMahon.

And now, WWE superstar Drew McIntyre has called him out for a potential fight at SummerSlam with PPV being held in Cardiff in September.

"We go back and forth with each other and give each other stick - he somehow seems to always duck me whenever he's at the WWE. He's obviously a little worried about something! I am always a big fan of his, he is highly entertaining and such an attraction so the WWE is always open to him.

"We could do something in the ring. The ball is in his court. I am not going to wait around for Tyson Fury, though. He can give us a call, he has our number!"

Speaking at a press conference at Wembley on Saturday, Fury said: “You might see me at SummerSlam coming up soon. I’ve got to speak to Vince and the boys and maybe make this happen.

“I know that Drew McIntyre has been saying a lot of things about me. I’ll have to knock him out, like I did his pal.”
