Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua ‘to fight for heavyweight world title’ in Cardiff showdown

  • Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will finally meet in the ring on 11 December at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium.
  • The fight was officially announced on Thursday after lengthy negotiations, with the fight now taking place in the UK after initially looking set to be held in New York.
  • According to boxing journalist Mike Coppinger, the WBA ‘super’ heavyweight title will be on the line, offering the two Brits extra motivation.
  • Joshua and Fury will now have the opportunity to become three-time world champions, having previously held a portion of the world title twice each.
  • Oleksandr Usyk remains The Ring champion, while Russia’s Murat Gassiev stays as the WBA ‘regular’ champion.
