Tyrone joint-manager Feargal Logan hinted that they may appeal the red card issued to Frank Burns during the first half of Saturday’s All-Ireland SFC first round defeat to Galway in Pearse Stadium.
The Tribesmen held off the challenge of a resolute Tyrone side, who were reduced to 13 players when goalkeeper Niall Morgan was shown a black card by referee David Gough.
Morgan appeared to be shown the line for something which was said following a late tackle on Peter Harte, who then replaced Morgan between the posts for 10 minutes.

Burns, however, watched on as the Red Hands suffered their fourth Championship defeat in succession with Gough issuing a straight red for a late challenge on Galway defender Jack Glynn after 18 minutes.
Speaking to GAAGO after the game, Logan said he felt the cards ruined the game as a contest while saying they’ll review the Burns incident before considering an appeal.
“There’s something to take from it, but a defeat is a defeat,” stated Logan.
“We suffered hard in the first half with the various cards. It sort of half ruined the game a wee bit too in terms of getting a full contest out there.
“That’s life, we have to live with it. We dug in well. Peter Harte deserves to be applauded for going in doing his duties in nets - it is the ultimate sacrifice for Tyrone.
“It was a tough game, a tough first half. What do you say? Galway won it, well done to Galway. We lost.”
When pressed on the disciplinary issues from the first half, Logan didn’t agree with the assertion that Morgan’s black card was for dissent towards the referee.
“Well I’m not sure about anything that was said to be honest - there’s some ambiguity about the exact position on that black card,” added the Tyrone joint-manager.
“Let’s hope we get that dealt with.
“Frank (Burns). . . let's give it the passage of some time and we’ll look at videos and stuff. Generally, yellows are more common than reds. It was a mistimed challenge and we’ll look at it and the fairness of the situation and see where it goes.”
As things stand, Burns will be suspended for Tyrone’s round two clash with Ulster rivals Armagh in Omagh on the weekend of June 2/3.
The Orchard County, who lost out to Derry on penalties in last weekend’s Ulster SFC Final in Clones, take on Westmeath in their opening Group Two game next Saturday at the Box-It Athletic Grounds.
