Tyrone Mings has once again been linked to Newcastle United following the news that Nathan Ake could cost £50m to prise from Manchester City.
Newcastle United are rumoured to be interested in 27-year-old Nathan Ake of Manchester City. However, yesterday the Telegraph reported that the asking price for the defender is £50m.
Inevitably that made a deal unlikely, and the Birmingham Mail responded by speculating that Newcastle could turn their attention to Tyrone Mings. The 29-year-old England centre-back previously played for Eddie Howe at Bournemouth.

The newspaper quoted a price of £35m for Mings, though added that Steven Gerrard would be unlikely to sell him. Villa have also already signed Diego Carlos from Seville.
The reaction of Newcastle fans to signing Mings might not be unanimously positive. However, the reaction in the comments from Aston Villa fans when they read the fee could be £35m was fairly positive, though there was some dispute over whether it was enough.
MJG55 commented: “Hopefully Mings will be leaving Villa SAP. He can be a great defender. However he has "brain fades", hopelessly out of position at times. If Newcastle want him for £35m. that seems a reasonable deal for an England international.”
AllSeeingEye said: “35m they can have him he will be replaced easy enough, I like Mings but if he wants out I have no problem in holding the door for him, that will be a very tidy profit too on a player they said we had overpaid for.”
