Tyreek Hill had another monster performance in Week 13. The veteran wide receiver continued his unlikely march toward a possible MVP award with a five-catch, 157-yard game against the Washington Commanders Sunday. That included an impressive, 60-yard bomb that saw him effortlessly flip his hips and track down an outside-thrown ball from what appeared to be an inside-leaning route.
So when local Washington D.C. radio host Grant Paulsen reposted Hill’s touchdown with the caveat it was both “one of the coolest plays” but that he could not “stress how bad this throw was,” the All-Pro wideout didn’t just soak up the compliment. He went out of his way to set the record straight and defend his quarterback.

The crazy thing is, Hill had Washington’s secondary so robustly beat Tagovailoa could have thrown that ball just about anywhere on that half of the field as, as long as it traveled 40 yards downfield, it would have been caught. The man on pace for just under 2,100 receiving yards drew obvious safety help and ran toward it, then had no issue doubling back away from the extra defender to where the ball eventually settled in his hands.
Tagovailoa has 24 touchdown passes in 12 games this season. Exactly half have gone to Hill.
