North East wind turbine installation and maintenance firm GO Wind is eyeing growth in Europe following a German contract.
The Tyneside-based contractor says it has completed installations for wind energy company Enercon and now has teams based in the UK and Germany. GO Wind managing director and founder, Paya Kolahi said: "This installation forms part of a multi-agreement programme with Enercon that will see us installing wind turbines, not only across the UK and Germany, but also across many other parts of Europe.
"We are very proud of the partnership we have with Enercon – and the many other major industry players we are installing on behalf of – and are very excited to roll out the extensive programme of installations for this leading wind energy company."

GO, which delivers onshore and offshore services, now says it will start further work for Enercon in Ireland involving the installation of seven wind turbines across Larne. Last month the firm installed two Enercon E-138 EP3 wind turbine models in North Lanarkshire.
The recent moves have increased GO's engineer headcount. Working with other wind turbine manufacturers the firm is expecting to further recruit and expand its installation and operations teams to deliver new contract wins including wind turbine installations at scale.
GO has delivered work on a number of wind farm schemes in the UK, including assisting Windhoist in pre-assembly and mechanical completion of 140 Siemens Gamesa D7 offshore wind turbine tower sectors for the Hornsea One windfarm. It has also carried out similar work on Siemens Gamesa D3 onshore wind turbines for the Grousemount wind farm in Ireland.
