Tyler Roberts' community work off the Leeds United pitch recognised with PFA award

Leeds United forward Tyler Roberts' work off the pitch has been recognised after he was named as the club's PFA Community Champion for the 2021-22 campaign. This is the second year in a row in which the Wales international has won the award for his role in supporting a number of community projects.

: “I'm really thankful to win this award again, when I received it last year it made my family really proud to see me be recognised for helping to try and bring the community up in different aspects," he said.

"I’ve met some amazing people during my visits to all different places and learnt about things that wouldn’t have come to my attention without this. So, I'd like to say a big thank you to all of the staff at Leeds and I’m excited to bring more of the ideas we have to life in the near future.”

Roberts has supported a number of campaigns, such as NO Room For Racism and Black History Month, sharing his experiences and helping to educate youngsters in the local community.

Roberts has assisted with virtual calls, filming sessions, media interviews and was the first Leeds player to head back out into the community for face-to-face initiatives this season.

On the pitch, Roberts was able to return to the substitutes bench at Brentford on Sunday following his recent injury lay-off, as Leeds United were able to secure their Premier League status on a dramatic final day of the season.
