United States captain Tyler Adams will miss Bournemouth's home Premier League game against Manchester United on Saturday. Adams was absent from a 2-1 defeat at Luton last weekend due to back spasms. Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola expressed optimism that the midfielder would soon return to action.
Iraola stated in a news conference on Friday that Adams is showing signs of improvement but will definitely be sidelined for the upcoming match. The manager attributed Adams' absence to a muscle issue and indicated that he expects the player to continue progressing, with a potential return to availability next week.
Adams had recently played two club matches on March 13 and 30 after recovering from a hamstring injury that had limited his appearances to just one game in the previous 12 months. Notably, he scored for the U.S. national team in their Concacaf Nations League final victory over Mexico on March 24.
Bournemouth currently occupies the 12th position in the Premier League standings, trailing sixth-place United by eight points. The Cherries are aiming to secure a double over United following their 3-0 victory at Old Trafford in December.
