A Twynholm ice hockey player is representing Great Britain at the FISU World University Games.
Vicky Carson is part of the women’s squad for the games, which are taking place in Lake Placid in America.
Vicky, who plays centre or on the wing, said: “I’m so excited and honoured to be in the squad representing GB in Lake Placid. I’ve been part of the GBU programme since I started university four years ago, qualifying for the games and representing my country is the most amazing way to say goodbye to my university hockey career.
“Thanks so much to everyone who has helped me along the way, I can’t wait to get out there and get on the ice with the girls to make some memories and make people back home proud.”
Team GB’s women were due to begin their campaign against the Czech Republic on Wednesday.
