Two year old's 'viral infection' was actually sign of cancer

The family of a toddler had their worst fears confirmed after his "viral infection" turned out be a sign of kidney cancer.

Two-year-old Jamie Clarke was rushed to Alder Hey Children's Hospital by his mum Ashley Hughes, 21, after she discovered a lump on the side of his stomach.

Doctors initially suspected that Jamie was suffering from a viral infection because his glands were swollen but he was taken back to the hospital by his dad Jamie, 24, the following day.
