Two Welsh bands have been selected by the Foo Fighters to open their UK shows next year. The American rock band announced on Tuesday, June 26, that they would be bringing their Everything or Nothing At All tour to the UK in the summer of 2024.
The tour will also see the band, fronted by Dave Grohl, return to Wales for the first time in almost two decades. The band last performed in Cardiff in 2007 in the Motorpoint Arena and before that supported Oasis at the then-named Millennium Stadium on the Noise and Confusion tour.
Next summer, the band will be touring in different UK locations such as Cardiff, London, Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow. They will be at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff on June 25, 2024. Presale tickets went on sale on Wednesday, June 28, while general sale starts on Friday, June 30 at 9am.

Amid the presale ticket hype on Wednesday however, the Foo Fighters also announced that various bands would be opening their shows in the UK, including two Welsh bands. At the Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester, CHROMA will be performing on June 15, 2024. Meanwhile, the Himalayas band will be performing on home turf here in Wales ahead of the Foo Fighters highly anticipated gig at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff on June 25.
Over the years, both these bands have made a name for themselves. CHROMA, who sing both in English and Welsh, have hit the radio waves of BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, Kerrang! radio, Radio Wales and BBC Radio Cymru.
They've previously appeared at Reading and Leeds Festival, BBC Radio 1's Biggest Weekend, FOCUS Wales, and Festival Number 6. They've also played sold-out shows all over the UK alongside the IDLES, Peace, The Joy Formidable, VANT and Tigercub.
Influenced by the likes of Yeah Yeah Yeahs and The Gossip, the band's most notable songs include 'Girls Talk', 'Weithiau' and 'Don't Mind Me'. If you can't wait to see them until 2024, the band will be performing at this year's Maes B at the National Eisteddfod in August, as well as the SWN Festival in Cardiff this October.
Himalayas is a Cardiff rock band which was formed in 2015. Their hit single, 'Thank God I'm Not You', has impressively reached over 38 million streams on Spotify so far. They've also received great support across various radio stations, such as BBC Radio 1's Nels Hylton and Kerrang! radio.
In the past, you might've seen them performing at the Truck Festival, Y Not Festival and the Isle of Wight Festival to name a few. They've also supported fellow Welsh bands such as Stereophonics and Manic Street Preachers, as well as headline gigs in Cardiff and London.
It is currently an exciting time for the band, as their debut album, From Hell to Here, was released in May. On top of this it is set to be a very busy summer for them, as they are performing at the Reading and Leeds Festival, Mad Cool Festival and the Rockland Festival over in La Rioja in Spain.
