Steph Curry and Chris Paul have been listed in a 41-player pool for Team USA ahead of the 2024 Olympics. That 41-player list will be slowly trimmed to the 12-player roster limit. Team USA is expected to take a full-strength team to Paris as it looks to erase the memory of a difficult ending to the FIBA World Cup last summer, where it finished fourth.
Interestingly, neither Draymond Green nor Klay Thompson are in the 41-player pool. Steve Kerr will continue in his role as head coach of Team USA, although, as reported in the summer, he will look to “pass the baton” once the Olympic Games are over.
“To me, it’s a two-year; it’s a cycle,” Kerr said “Pop coached a World Cup and the Olympics, now it’s my turn to pass the baton. I think that’s kind of how it should be. Frankly, it’s a huge commitment, too.”
Curry and Paul will need to earn their spots on the final 12-man roster. However, given Curry’s strong performances this season and his ability to create incredible scoring gravity, he will likely be one of the first names selected. He has also previously stated his desire to participate in the Olympics this summer.

Neither Curry nor Paul were part of the 2020 Olympic team that won gold in Tokyo. Both will likely want to play a role in a potential gold medal team this summer.
