The most common Long Covid symptoms reported are fatigue and headache, a new study has found. A whopping 80 percent of patients had neurological symptoms, with the research turning up a 'surprising' discrepancy.
The research added to growing evidence for 'chronic neuropsychiatric' signs - a broad term describing symptoms affecting brain function, emotion, and mood - after Covid infections. The top signs were followed by muscle aches, cough, and changes in smell and taste.
Whilst these symptoms are consistent with other studies, researchers were 'surprised' by the difference between testing and what patients reported. Investigators say a higher percentage of those who didn't report changes had evidence of impaired function.
