Two people have been taken to hospital following a collision on the A69 near Haydon Bridge.
Emergency crews were in attendance this afternoon (March 18) shortly after 3.40pm after a lorry and a car collided. The A69 is expected to be closed for several hours while police investigation work takes place.
Paramedics treated two occupants of the car at the scene before transporting them to the Royal Victoria Infirmary. The extent of their injuries is currently unknown.

The crash has caused traffic chaos in the area with the A69 being closed in both directions on the stretch between Newcastle and Carlisle. Diversions are currently in place with drivers urged leave extra time for their journey.
A North East Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called to reports of a road traffic collision on the A69 in Haydon Bridge at 3.38pm this afternoon. We have dispatched three ambulance crews, and two patients have been transported to the RVI for further treatment."
A Northumberland Fire & Rescue Service also confirmed that their crews have now left the scene. A spokesman said: Crews have now left the scene of the earlier incident on the A69 at Haydon Bridge.
"We are advised that the A69 will be closed at Haydon Bridge Bypass for approximately four hours while Police carry out investigations."
The A69 is closed between the A686 and B6319 and is likely to be shut for the remainder of the day.
A Northumbria Police spokesman said: “Shortly before 3.40pm today police received a report of a collision between a lorry and a car on the A69 eastbound near Haydon Bridge. Officers and emergency services are currently in attendance and the two occupants of the car are receiving medical treatment. Vehicles are asked to avoid the area at this time to help with congestion."
