Two people have been hospitalised after a car collided with ‘street furniture’ in Bolton this morning.
Emergency workers were scrambled to the scene on Wigan Road, in Bolton, at 7.30am today (July 24). All three emergency services attended the incident, a spokesperson said.
The spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) also confirmed two people were treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital. They added that police are now handling the scene.
They said: “At around 7.30am on Sunday 24 July, fire crews were called to reports of a road traffic collision on Wigan Road, Bolton. Two fire engines from Bolton Central, as well as the technical response unit from Leigh, quickly attended the incident, which involved one car colliding with street furniture.
“Two men were treated at the scene before being taken to hospital by North West Ambulance Service (NWAS). Firefighters used specialist equipment to make the area safe. GMFRS crews were in attendance for around an hour before handing the scene over to Greater Manchester Police (GMP).”
