A Scots coastguard team were called to rescue two people from a boat suffering from exposure to a toxic gas.
Stornoway Coastguard were alerted to the incident at around 3:20pm on Tuesday, February 14.
They met the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and Stornoway RNLI at the local harbour and the two casualties, suffering from exposure to oxone gas, were transferred to the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.
No information is available on the condition of both at this stage.
A spokesperson for the Maritime and Coastguard Agency said: "Stornoway RNLI Lifeboat was sent to evacuate two people reporting exposure to oxone gas from a vessel approx. 1nm south of Stornoway Harbour.
"The lifeboat was met by the Stornoway Coastguard Rescue Team and both casualties were safely transferred into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service."
The Scottish Ambulance Service have been approached for comment.
