TWO people had to be rushed to hospital following a crash between a motorbike and a car in West Calder.
Emergency services were called to the scene around 3.35pm on Sunday after a red Aprilia motorcycle and a car collided on the A70 at the junction with the B7008.
The rider of the bike, a 58-year-old man, and the driver of the car, a 49-year-old woman were both taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.
The road remained shut for around four hours while investigations were carried out.
Sergeant Scott Kirkpatrick said: “Our enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances of this crash.
“I would urge anyone who may have seen the vehicle involved prior to the incident, or who has any dash-cam footage, to come forward.
“We are particularly interested in speaking to the driver of a silver vehicle who was in the area at the time.
“Anyone with information should call 101, quoting reference 2391 of August 20.”
