Two people remain in hospital with serious injuries following a collision in Gateshead involving a police car.
Shortly after 3pm yesterday (Friday), Northumbria Police were called to the scene of a two-vehicle collision on Dunston Bank in Gateshead between a police car, which was responding to an emergency call-out, and a motorcycle.
The two people on the motorcycle were taken to hospital by air ambulance, with serious injuries. They remain in hospital at this time. The officer who was driving the car was also taken to hospital as a precaution and has now been discharged.
