Two police officers have been hospitalised with serious injuries after a “deliberate and despicable attack” in Larkhall, southeast of Glasgow.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said that officers were carrying out inquiries at a property on Glen Avenue at about 2.10pm on Saturday when the incident occurred.
