The Delta plane returned to the gate and did not take off until the following morning due to staffing issues and Delta says it provided passengers a hotel room. In a statement to CNN, Delta said they will work with the National Transportation Safety Board to determine what happened.
A Delta spokesperson said: “The safety of our customers and crew is always Delta’s number one priority,
“Delta will work with and assist the NTSB on a full review of flight 1943 on Jan. 13 regarding an aborted takeoff procedure at New York-JFK. We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience and delay of their travels.”
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has also launched an investigation into the incident.
