Two planes collide on Heathrow Airport runway as emergency services rush to scene

Two planes have collided with one another on a runway at Heathrow Airport.

Emergency services rushed to the incident, involving Korean Air flight KE908, at 8pm today. The Mirror reports the plane scraped the side of another aircraft while taxiing at the London airport.

Footage of the crash, at around 8pm on Wednesday, has appeared on Twitter. The airport has since confirmed the collision took place, but said it wasn't "full on".

One eyewitness tweeted that a Korean Air plane was involved in the accident

A passenger on the Korean Air flight said: "I was watching out the window thinking we were awful close to the tail for a parked plane. And then it looked like we grazed it.

"The captain hasn't really told us much except we are going back to the gate due to a technical issue. But the last communication was about 45 mins ago."

He added: "The crew are keeping quiet. They are waiting for the captain - there is no chance this flight is taking off tonight."

A video from the scene, posted by former journalist Steve Smith, shows around five emergency service vehicles on the scene, but he confirms that there is "no fire ". Flight KE908 was due to depart at 7,35pm to Seoul, Korea, but has not yet left the airport.
