Two people have been reported to the Procurator Fiscal, as part of an ongoing investigation into historic abuse in Jamestown.
Last January a mobile police station unit spent a fortnight on Davidson Road, with officers seen removing items from a lock-up outside a block of flats. A police photographer also photographed the inside of one of the lock-ups.
A police officer was stationed on the first floor landing of 20 Davidson Road, outside the door of a flat when the Lennox visited during the operation.
At the time, Police Scotland were remaining tight lipped, saying only that the investigation related to ‘historic abuse’.
Last year four people, three men and one woman, were arrested in relation to the investigation and released pending further enquiries.
However last week the force confirmed to the Lennox that there had been a further development, with two people reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “A man and a woman have been reported to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with an ongoing enquiry into non-recent abuse in Alexandria. Enquiries are ongoing.”
