Two people have been hospitalised after the roof of an address in Blaydon came down in the high winds caused by Storm Malik.
The North East was battered by the high winds of the storm yesterday, with thousands left without power and homes and property damaged.
The North East Ambulance Service confirmed it had taken two people to hospital after a roof came down at an address on Blaydon Bank.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said: "We were called at 10.10 on Saturday morning to reports of a roof that had fallen on Blaydon Bank which had trapped one person and caused a head injury to another.
"We dispatched two Hazardous Area Response crews and one paramedic ambulance.
"We treated two patients at the scene before taking them to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle."
It wasn't the only home to be damaged in this way yesterday - residents in nearby Behsham spoke of their shock after the entire roof of a neighbouring property was ripped off on Saturday morning.
Meanwhile, the Met Office has warned that a new storm - Storm Corrie - will bring high winds and likely disruption to Scotland and the North on Sunday and Monday.
