Kruise Leeming has been linked with NRL giants St George Illawarra Dragons and Brisbane Broncos as he prepares to sever ties with Leeds Rhinos. Rugby League Live broke the news of Leeming’s impending move away from Headingley shortly before their televised 14-8 loss at Wheldon Road last Thursday.
Leeming's representatives are believed to have held talks with the Rhinos and an understanding has been reached enabling them to pursue a contract elsewhere with immediate effect. The 27-year-old is under contract until the end of 2024 but now appears set to leave well before that.
A move to the NRL has been mooted and the North Queensland Cowboys were one of the teams linked with the Yorkshireman, although they denied any interest last Friday. Now, though, the ‘Rumour Mill’ section of Nick Tedeschi’s FROM THE COUCH – NRL ROUND 3, 2023, claims the Dragons and Broncos want Leeming and are “fighting it out for his services”.

However, it's understood a move to either of those clubs is unlikely, leaving his future uncertain. A number of Super League clubs, such as Wigan Warriors and Huddersfield Giants, have said they will not be signing the hooker. Quite where Leeming will end up remains to be seen, although an NRL switch does appear the most likely option.
