Two more men charged after Mark Cavendish and wife robbed in horrific raid

Police investigating the robbery which left Mark Cavendish and his family "fearing for their lives" have charged two more men in relation to the incident.

Cavendish and his wife Peta Todd were at home in Essex with their children when four men broke in and threatened them at around 2.35am on November 27 last year.

A Louis Vuitton suitcase was taken, along with two high-value watches.

Fortunately, no injuries were sustained by anyone involved, though cyclist Cavendish later revealed that he and his family were left "extremely distressed" by the robbery.

Romario Henry, 30, of Bell Green in Lewisham, was charged with two counts of robbery in December.

He appeared at Colchester Magistrates' Court on December 20, where he spoke only to confirm his name and address.

Mr Henry is due to make his next appearance at Chelmsford Crown Court on Friday, March 4.

Police said at the time of Mr Henry's arrest that two other 27-year-old men had also been taken into custody before being released on bail.

Essex Police have now confirmed that those two men, Oludewa Okorosobo, of Flaxman Road in Camberwell and Ali Badara Sesay, of Holding Street in Rainham, have also been charged with robbery.

They appeared in front of Colchester Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, and will appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on Tuesday, March 29.

Cavendish had been recovering from a serious crash which left him with broken ribs and a punctured lung at the time of the raid.

In January, officers investigating the robbery released photographs of two more men who they would like to speak to in connection with the crime.

George Goddard, 26, from Loughton in Essex, and Jo Jobson, 25, from Plaistow in London are the two men with whom they were keen to speak.

"We're still seeking the public's help to locate these two men, Jo Jobson and George Goddard," said detective inspector Tony Atkin.

"I believe both men will have information which will help the investigation and I would urge them both to come forward."

Anyone with any information which could lead to the whereabouts of Jobson or Goddard is asked to call Essex Police on 101 and cite Operation Chamber.

Alternatively, those with information can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
