Emergency services were called to Harestanes Road in Armadale at around 11.50am on Saturday following a report of a man found injured inside a property.
William Watson, known as Billy, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives said on Wednesday that following a post-mortem examination, the 35-year-old’s death was being treated as murder.
Officers said Watson suffered fatal injuries consistent with being shot by a firearm.
Police said on Friday that two men aged 29 and 44 have been arrested in connection with the death.
A 57-year-old man already arrested and charged in connection with the death is expected to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court in due course.
