The Good Food Awards has named its winners for 2022, with a number of Merseyside venues earning recognition.
The awards, which launched in 2002, recognise the high standards kept by restaurants across the UK , with judging based on dishes served, customer feedback, and food hygiene score. The awards are divided into categories, with separate accolades for gastropubs, cafes, fish and chip shops and takeaways.
This year, The Good Food Awards has recognised two Merseyside fish and chip shops. Those named are Yanni’s Fish and Chips on Lord Street in the city centre and Parkgate Fish and Chips in Wirral.

Yanni’s won the Good Food Award Gold Seal this year, which is the highest accolade the awards give out. It is presented to venues which have won awards for three consecutive years or more. Parkgate Fish and Chips received the Good Food Awards Blue Ribbon, which is given to those with high customer ratings or votes.
Merseyside also scooped up a number of other accolades at the Good Food Awards 2023, including two restaurants which took home Good Food Awards. Those named are Thai Cuisine Express Liverpool and Antonio's Bar and Grill in Knowsley Village.
In the Good Takeaway Awards, Khaja Indian Cuisine in Woolton was awarded the Gold Seal this year. In the Good Cafe Awards, Rococo on Lord Street in the city centre and Muzzy’s Breakfast House in Bebington received the Blue Ribbon. You can see the full list of Good Food Awards 2023 winners here .
