A junction in Leeds was cordoned off by police for sometime today after two people were attacked.
Two men were assaulted in the early hours of Sunday, August 28, in Briggate. Police say they were called shortly after 6am.
At the scene, police found two victims who had been injured. The victims had both suffered facial injuries which have been described as serious.

The young men, who are in their twenties, were taken to hospital for treatment. Police have since launched an investigation and have asked any members of the public who witnessed the attack to come forward.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire police said: "At 6.06am today (Sunday), police were called to a report of an assault in Briggate, Leeds. Officers attended and found two males in their twenties with serious facial injuries.
"Both were taken to hospital for further treatment. Leeds District CID is investigating the incident and anyone with information that may assist is asked to contact them on 101, or by using the LiveChat facility on the West Yorkshire Police website.
"The crime reference is 13220474393. Information can also be reported anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 or online."
Earlier reports on social media suggested weapons had been used and people had been stabbed. Leeds Live understands weapons were not involved in this particular incident.
The assault, however, comes on the back of police being given extra powers after there were a number of violent incidents in Leeds. Bladed articles were reportedly used in some of those incidents.
