Two men seen 'acting suspiciously' by police in Belfast before heroin and cash bust

Two men were seen by police ‘acting suspiciously’ on a street before a big discovery was made and both men were arrested.

According to Belfast police, a District Support Team was on a simple ‘proactive patrol’ in Belfast city centre when they spotted the two men.

After concluding that they were acting strange, officers stopped and searched them - during which they discovered a large quantity of suspected heroin. Moments later, they also discovered a large amount of cash.

They were both arrested on the spot for “Possession of Class A Drugs and Possession of Class A Drugs with intent to supply and are currently in Musgrave Custody Suite”.

Officers decided to carry out a follow up house search in North Belfast where another large quantity of Class A drugs was seized alongside related drug dealing paraphernalia.

Confirming the seizure, a police spokesperson said: “Belfast District Support Team were on proactive patrol today in Belfast City Centre when two males were observed acting suspiciously.

“Both males were stopped and searched and a large quantity of suspected Heroin and a large amount of cash was located on both males. Both were subsequently arrested on suspicion of Possession of Class A Drugs and Possession of Class A Drugs with intent to supply and are currently in Musgrave Custody Suite.

“A follow up house search was carried out in North Belfast where another suspected quantity of Class A drugs was seized and related drug dealing paraphernalia.

“Belfast District Support Team will continue to target Drug Dealers in Belfast and we are most effective when you, the public, work with us”.
