Two men rushed to hospital after 'stabbing' on residential Glasgow street

Two men have been taken to hospital after a disturbance in a quiet residential street in the east end of Glasgow. Police rushed to Haymarket Street in the Carntyne area at around 5pm on Friday after receiving reports of a scuffle.

Ambulance crews were later called to the scene and two men, who are believed to have been involved in the disturbance, were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment. Both are believed to be aged around 45.

Their present condition is currently unknown. Police Scotland say enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Officers were called to reports of a disturbance on Haymarket Street, Glasgow, around 5pm on Friday, 5 August, 2022. Two men, both aged 45, have been taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

“Officers remain at the scene and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
