Two men are in hospital following a serious crash in Edinburgh which caused a car to flip onto its roof.
Emergency crews raced to Waterfront Avenue in Granton at roughly 4pm today after receiving reports of a two-vehicle collision, Edinburgh Live reports.
Two male passengers from one of cars sustained injuries and were rushed to Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment. Their current conditions are unknown.
Pictures from the scene show a blue vehicle completely overturned with a silver car sitting in front. An eyewitness described the incident as a 'mess'.
The road was closed westbound for a short time with traffic, including several Lothian bus services, being diverted via West Granton Road. It was reopened by police after the vehicles were removed.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 3.50pm on Wednesday, 17 May, to a report of a two vehicle crash on Waterfront Avenue, Edinburgh.
“Emergency services attended and two men from one of the vehicles were taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh by ambulance for treatment.
“The road was closed westbound for a short time for vehicle recovery.”
