Two men have been arrested on suspicion of rape following a serious sexual assault in Cardiff. The men, aged 20 and 19, were released on bail after a subway in Cardiff city centre was closed on Saturday, April 1.
South Wales Police received a report in the early hours of Saturday, April 1, alleging a woman had been seriously sexually assaulted. A subway in Cardiff city centre was cordoned off following the incident.
In a statement on Monday afternoon, South Wales Police said: "Officers investigating a serious sexual assault which was reported during the early hours Saturday morning in central Cardiff have arrested two men on suspicion of rape. The men, a 20-year-old from Bridgend and a 19-year-old from Cardiff, are now on bail pending further investigation. We are not looking for anyone else in connection with this investigation."
