Two Love Island couples sent home in major twist ahead of ITV2 show final

Love Island fans watched two couples being sent home from the Spanish villa in a brutal twist.

Deji Adeniyi and Reece Ford were dumped from the ITV2 show on Sunday night, alongside new ladies Lacey Edwards and Nathalia Campos. The Islanders were taken aback when they were asked to immediately gather around the Fire Pit.

They learned that the public had been voting for the most compatible couple and the contestants with the fewest votes were the ones at risk of being dumped from the villa. Deji and dancer Lacey were one of the three couples, along with Nathalia and Reece, and Danica and Jamie.

However, at the last minute, the group were informed it would be two couples going home, reports The Mirror. As a text came through, the Islanders found out that Danica and Jamie had been saved and would therefore be staying in the villa.

Love Island fans were most upset to see Deji go, especially as he had just coupled up with newcomer Lacey. One viewer tweeted: "I’m so p*****. Danica should have gone home. Deji and Lacey were so good together man. #loveisland."

Another said: "We’re in a world where Dami, Luca and Danica have survived and Deji is going home #loveisland." A third viewer tweeted: "i can’t believe deji is leaving."

Speaking about his time on the show, Deji said of Casa Amor: "I didn’t know if I’d be actually able to break the bond that Indiyah and Dami had because it was so strong. I feel like actions speak louder than words and me and Indiyah definitely had something there which is the reason why we got on as well as we did and went back to the main Villa."

Asked if he wished he'd done anything differently, Deji added: "I stand by what I did. I don’t want to change anything. I was true to myself, which is why I went for Indiyah and why we got along as much as we did. If anything was fake she would have picked up on it and I would defo have not been myself. I wouldn’t change a thing."
