Pizza is arguably one of the most treasured dishes in the world. The Italian staple, which originated in Naples, is adored for its versatility and timelessness.
In Liverpool, a number of independent restaurants serve up rich, decadent and authentic pizzas, helping transport locals and tourists alike to the Mediterranean shores of Italy right here in Liverpool.

There's no shortage of excellent pizzerias in the UK and with today (February 9) being National Pizza Day, Betway has unveiled the top 10 spots serving up the best slices across the country.
Popularity was measured by a unique index score which was generated by the number of hashtags each location has racked up on Instagram, alongside Google and Tripadvisor reviews. The lower the overall index score, the higher the ranking, with spots from Liverpool, Manchester, Glasgow and Birmingham coming out on top.
In Liverpool, two restaurants made the cut. The Quarter, on Falkner Street, finished in third place, while city centre venue Casa Italia came in at number six.
Rudy’s original Ancoats restaurant in Manchester claimed the top spot, though those craving a taste of the UK’s number one can do so right here in Liverpool. The popular pizzeria boasts several venues in the city; one on Castle Street, another on Bold Street, with its newest Albert Dock site marking its third Liverpool venture. Based in the former The Leather Satchel Company, the restaurant opened its doors on Monday, December 12.
