Two Leeds United stars avoid Premier League suspension for crucial Nottingham Forest clash

Leeds United stars Marc Roca and Rasmus Kristensen have had their yellow card record wiped clean after the pair avoided picking up a fifth booking of the season during Sunday's 0-0 draw with Brentford.

Roca, Kristensen and Robin Koch all headed into the game knowing they were one mistimed tackle away from being suspended for their next Premier League game against Nottingham Forest on February 5. A win against Steve Cooper's side would see the Whites overtake them with a superior goal difference, as they look to pull themselves up and away from a relegation fight.

Unfortunately for Koch, the defender received his fifth yellow card of the season in the 83rd minute. Had he held on just seven minutes more, he too would have had his cumulative booking total 'reset' having reached the halfway stage of the season.

Suspensions for multiple bookings in the same competition do not impact other domestic competitions in the same way that red cards do, meaning that the German will be available for the Whites' FA Cup fourth round tie vs Accrington Stanley or Boreham Wood.

Roca and Kristensen both managed to avoid picking up a caution, with Marsch not even bringing the latter on for the game against the Bees. Roca was replaced by Sam Greenwood in the 87th minute, as the former Bayern Munich man ensured that he kept his name out of the referee's notebook.

The Spaniard has featured in every single Premier League game for Leeds this season, starting 18 of their 19 matches this term. Marsch will therefore be thrilled to have Roca available for the clash against Forest, with the American no doubt hoping that Liam Cooper will be fit and ready to replace Koch when they travel to the City ground.
