Two residents have been injured following a house fire in Lenton. Firefighters were responding to reports of a blaze that started in a kitchen in Harrington Drive, Lenton, at 10.34pm on Tuesday, February 14.
Two fire engines from London Road attended. The occupants tried to deal with an oil pan fire by throwing water onto it and carrying the pan outside, which resulted in the injuries.
One male and one female were administered first aid by crews on scene. It was the first of two house fires in less than an hour in Nottingham as Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service saved five children and an adult from a flat fire after being called to the scene at 11.23pm.

The incident took place on Church Street in Old Basford. After the crews in attendance put out the concerning fire, the six people trapped inside were led to safety.
The ambulance service was also in attendance.
Station Manager for Prevention, Dan Palmer, said "Thankfully the people involved in both these incidents escaped with minor to no injuries, but it could have been very different.
"Please take care when you're cooking, don't leave pans unattended and never put water on a pan fire. If your smoke alarm sounds, make sure you have an escape route planned for yourself and your family. Get out, stay out, and call 999 immediately."
